Claim your profileAssistant Editor and Staff Writer Savannah Behrends began her professional career with the Midlands Business Journal in 2017 after finishing her bachelor’s in journalism at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. In addition to writing dozens of articles for MBJ on local businesses, she is also instrumental in curating MBJ’s content and outreach initiatives. In 2019 she led the redesign of MBJ’s business announcements section, which moved from a free service to a revenue-generating product. She was promoted to assistant editor in 2021 and launched MBJ’s first-ever series on affordable housing in 2022. Following the series’ success, Savannah was asked to curate MBJ’s first quarterly series. In 2020 Savannah was part of the inaugural Facebook Digital Marketing Program at Metropolitan Community College. She parlayed these skills into a part-time position with Lozafina Marketing and Communications. As Director of Digital Storytelling for Lozafina, Savannah is in charge of creating and implementing client campaigns, working alongside interns to help them hone their skills.
