Claim your profileI am a journalist covering lifestyle. Previously, I was a senior sub-editor at The Indian Express and Jagran New Media in New Delhi, India. Before that, I completed a brief stint at the USA Today Network and Gannett in Massachusetts with their daily newspapers, covering the communities near Boston, which included town council meetings, human interest stories about the local community, and the art and culture beat. I did my undergrad from IP College for Women, University of Delhi in multimedia and mass communication with a minor in philosophy from India, while I pursued my Master’s of Science in journalism from Boston University, Massachusetts, where I was chosen to present my graduate thesis on ‘How Social Media Saved Lives’ in the second wave of COVID-19 in India. I took up coursework in narrative journalism, photo journalism, online journalism, data journalism, documentary filmmaking, radio production, communication research and much more. I am passionate about covering everything under the ambit of lifestyle— from beauty and fashion to health and wellness, and even art and culture. Being a part of the early Generation Z, I love decoding new terms propping up by the second and analysing the intersection between pop culture and larger societal issues. As a social media aficionado, I am well-versed with CMS, SEO, SEM, and social media editing — all that is required from a digital journalist in today’s age. I am available for consultation if you’ve any queries related to the field of journalism, navigating a degree abroad, freelancing tips, how to get noticed, and more. You can book a session through my site: https://www.saumyaarastogi.com I also enjoy pursuing photography and videography as a side hobby, which is inspired by the likes of Danish Siddique, Henri Cartier-Bresson and David Attenborough — who have motivated me to capture stories from a humanist and candid lens.
