I'm an editor and writer at The New York Times. As part of the Early Careers team, I explore ways that The School of The New York Times can teach journalism fundamentals and the importance of independence to high school students.I joined The Times in 2016 and spent three years on the Culture desk. I went on to become an editor on the Home team before pivoting to the Early Careers team. Over the years I've covered Middle Eastern culture, the coronavirus pandemic, film, television, travel, photography and more. I am also on the steering committee of the MENA Collective, an employee resource group for those from and/or interested in the MENA region. Before joining The Times, I worked at publications and agencies in Boston, New York, Dubai and Lebanon.
