A long time public radio reporter, including NPR's correspondent covering race and identity across the country, I am now an Assistant Professor of English, teaching creative nonfiction and audio documentary at Dartmouth. I'm currently working on projects about the capture of civil rights law and language to undo civil rights, the great grief crisis, and a look at my grandmother's life as one of the voices of Congress Radio, an underground anti Colonial radio station operating just before India gained independence, and how her story connects to my own attempts - and failures - to make revolutionary radio.
