Claim your profileMy education and professional trajectory has led me from the role of curious, enthusiastic, and active scientist to research editor responsible for making decisions that have a very real impact on science, more generally. This path has taken me from intensive and specialized ecological and evolutionary knowledge to that which is broad and unusual, shaped by the digestion of dozens of research papers a week, and regular attendance of meetings of the sharpest scientific minds, across a wide array of important and exciting fields of research. This bird's-eye view of the scientific landscape affords me with the unique opportunity to see the lay of the scientific land, without having to be in the trenches. This perspective facilitates my confidence in the important decisions for which I am responsible and increases my dedication to the dissemination of scientific knowledge that will both improve our understanding of our world and our ability to preserve it.
