Claim your profileI am a reporter in The Wall Street Journal’s Washington bureau, covering technology policy. During the coronavirus pandemic, I also joined a team of reporters covering Small Business Administration lending programs. I previously covered financial regulation, writing about the officials in charge of overseeing Wall Street. I love the challenge of translating complex topics for readers, and of playing journalists’ part in democracy: Giving voters an independent account of what their government’s doing. I began working in The Journal’s DC bureau in December 2010 as a general assignment reporter for Dow Jones Newswires, and soon moved to the energy policy beat where I wrote about safety at nuclear power plants, solar power subsidies, fracking and other issues. In the fall of 2014 I moved to the financial regulation beat. I got my start as a journalist after college at The Times of Trenton, the same paper I once delivered as a paper boy growing up in central New Jersey. I attended town council and school board meetings and wrote about everything from sewer infrastructure to affordable housing and substance abuse programs. I miss local reporting, but I love living and working in the nation’s capital. In between Trenton and the WSJ, I earned a master’s degree in journalism and wrote for Newsweek. I’m always looking for smart ideas from smart people, so don’t hesitate to message me!
