Claim your profileAfter training at the London College of Printing in magazine journalism, comms and business, I started out on the Uttoxeter Advertiser, a hot metal weekly broadsheet with ads and no stories on the front. I was soon indentured on The Birmingham Post and Mail with block release at Sheffield and from there went to the Daily Mail in London, moving to The Times in 1987. I took on the religion beat in 1989 then in 2014 went to Goldsmiths for the MA in digital journalism. After that I did a short stint as editor of Christian Today and joined The Tablet, where it had been my dream to work for some decades, in 2017.
