I am a degree educated journalist and highly experienced journalist. My current role is Deputy Commissioning Editor for several women’s true life magazines within a global media company.In my role, I negotiate with news agencies and freelancers to commission headline-grabbing stories, and also chase stories of my own from national and local newspapers, and online sources. I also interview members of the public with a view to bringing their stories to print in an entertaining, thought-provoking and sensitive manner.Prior to this, I was a Features Writer for that's life! and Take a Break magazines. I chased, interviewed and wrote true life features on a variety of topics from family life and health, to domestic abuse and hard-hitting crime. My stories have featured as the main headlines on the covers of these titles over the years, and several have been nominated for Bauer Media Awards. In my previous roles as Editorial Assistant and Administrative Assistant, I was a project and data manager and I carried out customer service, office management and other office based duties.
