I’m a freelance journalist working on an upcoming feature for MJBizDaily examining how the role of the cannabis master grower or head cultivator has evolved as cultivation operations scale commercially. I’m looking to hear from: Master growers or head cultivators, or Cannabis operators/executives who have hired or worked closely with one. The story focuses on how the role has expanded beyond plant cultivation into leadership, operations and business performance — and why experienced cultivation leaders are becoming harder to find. Short written responses are completely fine (a few sentences per question is perfect). No formal interview required unless you prefer one. Timing: I’m reviewing responses on a rolling basis over the next several days. 1. How has the role of a master grower or head cultivator changed in recent years? 2. What surprises people most about what the job actually involves today? 3. What skills matter most when cultivation moves from small-scale growing to commercial production? 4. Why do you think experienced cultivation leaders are difficult to find right now? 5. What impact does a strong (or weak) cultivation leader have on a company’s overall performance?
