At Paradocs, Rachael leads the development of prestige nonfiction projects in collaboration with Oscar-winning directors, global talent, and mission-aligned funders—bringing urgent, unforgettable stories to life. Rachael’s work lives at the intersection of journalism, storytelling, and strategic vision. Before launching Paradocs, Rachael created and led NBC News’ in-house documentary unit, where she served as Executive Producer of the Digital Docs team. She oversaw a slate of original films covering urgent global issues—from Ukraine’s stolen children to the Israel-Hamas war—garnering multiple Emmy nominations, an Edward R. Murrow Award, and a premiere at an Oscar-qualifying festival in the division’s inaugural years. Before NBC, Rachael spent 15 years at 60 Minutes, where she earned two Alfred I. duPont–Columbia Awards. She received her first for investigating the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010 and the second for her coverage of the Newtown school shooting in 2012. Her portfolio includes exclusive interviews with Syria’s President Assad in Damascus, the first televised account from the Navy SEAL who shot Osama bin Laden, and frontline reporting on ISIS’s advance into Iraq—where she first met Nadia Murad in a refugee camp leading to Murad receiving the Nobel Peace Prize a few years later. Her reporting spans more than 15 countries—including Syria, Iraq, Russia, and Burma—and covers major beats in human rights, conflict, politics, and culture. Over her career, Rachael has worked with many of the most respected names in broadcast journalism, including Scott Pelley, Anderson Cooper, Craig Melvin, Norah O’Donnell, Bill Whitaker, Lesley Stahl, and the late Mike Wallace.
