Claim your profileBroadcast news is the business of “now”! Over the last few years, I have tried to bring this simple concept into my newsroom at KULR-8. I work hard to be a leader and mentor to young journalists just entering the business. As our industry continues to evolve, it's my mission to help give those I manage the tools to adapt and survive. The skills I learned in the field as a Reporter, in the newsroom as a Producer, and now as a News Director gives me an edge in any high-stakes and high-pressure environment. I thrive on researching, compiling, and breaking down complex ideas for mass consumption. It's an honor and a privilege to help those around me learn to do the same. My team wants to win now and can have a good time while doing so. I have embraced the breaking news culture in a 24/7 media cycle. In a digital world with the right infrastructure in place, there is no reason to lag behind the competition. We have more tools at our fingertips than ever before to truly allow any company to effectively communicate internally and with the masses. Before leading the KULR-8 news team I cut my teeth in many facets of news gathering, producing and reporting. I've fronted and operated live shots. I spent my career shooting, writing, and non-linear editing news packages for weekday, evening, and weekend television news programs. In 2020, I was honored to be elected for a two year term as a board member with the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences - Northwest Chapter.
