Claim your profileNiklaus Nuspliger is a Political Correspondent for the Swiss daily Neue Zürcher Zeitung based in London. Before taking over this position in 2020, he had served as a Correspondent for European Affairs in Brussels, as a foreign correspondent in New York City and as a parliament correspondent in Bern. Born in Bern in 1980, he studied political science and international relations in Geneva, Madrid and Sydney. In addition to his work as a journalist, Niklaus has held academic guest lectures, offered comment on TV and radio and moderated panels in Switzerland, Belgium and the United States. He is fluent in English, German, French and Spanish and has a good working knowledge of Italian. During a leave of absence in 2019 and 2020 he travelled extensively in Brazil, California, China and Southeast Asia. His first book «Europa zwischen Populisten-Diktatur und Bürokraten-Herrschaft» on the multi-crisis of democracy in Europe was published in 2019 with NZZ Libro in Switzerland. In 2021, he won the FPA media award in the category "Best story about Britain in a foreign language".
