Claim your profileI love the raw emotion simple writing, pictures and sound can evoke. My goal as a broadcaster is to creatively weave these elements into the strongest, most representative and realistic story possible. As a host, I desire to bring global voices to the table to promote a better understanding of not only news worthy 'hot topics' like the next election, but also social justice follow ups on human rights abuses, global poverty, and humanitarian disasters. My freelance experiences in Iraq, Jordan, Rwanda, Lebanon, Uganda, Haiti, Turkey, Somalia, London, France the United States and Canada have made me more culturally aware, flexible and adaptive to new environments. Anchoring and reporting out west helped me understand key prairie issues and how they relate to the Canadian political landscape. My work in Quebec and in Kigali challenged me to work predominantly outside my language comfort zone. Apart from raising awareness through stories, I'm also interested in being apart of sustainable solutions. I graduated from the Munk School of Global Affairs where I learned to develop policy ideas and collaboratively work towards innovative solutions. My team's final capstone project "Arriving Home: Developing a Comprehensive Refugee Housing and Integration Strategy" is attached below.
