Claim your profileI oversee production and co-host Big Picture Science, a one-hour weekly radio show carried by more than 150 public radio stations (carried on National Public Radio Satellite System and Public Radio Exchange) and podcast. I develop show themes, conduct interviews, write script, co-host the program, edit and mix show elements, supervise staff. I also teach podcasting and radio script writing at the University of California, Santa-Cruz Science Communication Program, and give public talks about how to improve communication between scientists and the public. I've written for New Scientist and spent ten years as a regular contributor to BBC Science Radio (Radio 4, World Service, Science and Nature Online) from California and occasionally from London. My radio start: assistant producer at Wisconsin Public Radio the national radio magazine, To the Best of Our Knowledge.
