Weather Intel is also assembling a Transporation Weather Resource group to provide trucking route forecasts as well as automatic weather observations from the long haul trucks. My background involves weather forecasting, media broadcasting and consulting. Following 12 years as an Air Force forecaster, I have been engaged as a broadcast meteorologist 34 years. For 42 years I have worked within the field of meteorology and written several papers on forecasting techniques. Additional research I’ve undertaken includes UV radiation forecasting experiments and a method to predict the onset of El Nino conditions in the Pacific. I chase tornadic storms and have flown into hurricanes. My experience ranges from arctic work in Alaska to tropical forecasting in Panama. I am a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM), #82 of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and hold Television Seal of Approval #390 of the National Weather Association (NWA). Additionally, I am Chair of the Broadcast Meteorology Committee of the NWA, overseeing national broadcast candidates for the NWA Seal of Approval. In 2014, the NWA begins awarding a new Digital Seal of approval for excellent weather cybercasters. In 2006 I founded the Kern Chapter of the NWA and was the initial president.
