With the changing landscapes of journalism, Michelle is currently devoted to working to create non traditional arts journalism newsrooms going back to her roots as Arts Editor yet implementing the experience she gained through managing newsroom departments.Working with Broward County for the Broward Arts Journalism Alliance (BAJA) and Miami-Dade County for artburstmiami.com, Michelle is ensuring that arts coverage remains vital in mainstream publications. She is helping to create a new program with Broward County and, with Miami-Dade County, expanding ArtburstMiami's program. Both BAJA and ArtburstMiami.com are creating models that can be used throughout the country to provide arts coverage to mainstream newsrooms that have found it necessary to trim their features/arts staff.Previously, she created original audio and digital content at Top 10 Miami television station WPLG Channel 10 including video DigiShorts and producing and reporting The Florida Files, a true crime original series podcastShe was also a digital journalist for WPLG's Local10.com, specializing in original web content and video content.She's also a freelance staff writer for Lifestyle Media Group, focusing on South Florida luxury. A storyteller, Michelle is comfortable shooting and producing video, making her a true multi-media journalist. A graduate of Emerson College, Boston, with a master's degree from the State University of New York/Albany/Empire State College, Michelle was a top performer as a manager for online news departments in two Top 10 television stations in Detroit and Miami.
