In 2013, after being appointed Editor, I led a complete redesign and editorial overhaul of Aperture, which has since received multiple nominations for ASME’s National Magazine Award, winning in the category of General Excellence in 2018. Aperture also received a 2016 Infinity Award, from the International Center of Photography, in 2017, for the issue titled “Vision & Justice.” In addition to being the Editor of Aperture, I produce books and exhibitions for Aperture Foundation. Recent projects include “Orlando,” an issue of the magazine and exhibition, co-curated with Tilda Swinton; “Kwame Brathwaite: Black Is Beautiful”; and “Prison Nation”, co-curated with Nicole R. Fleetwood.
