Claim your profileI've been lucky to have two strands to my career: I write about language and linguistics for general readers, and my work has appeared in The Atlantic, Science, The New York Times, Aeon, the Texas Observer, the Paris Review, and many other publications dearly departed. My previous books have been widely reviewed (NY Times, Wall Street Journal, the Economist, etc.) and translated into multiple languages, and my work has been featured in the New Yorker, National Public Radio, the BBC, and elsewhere. I am also a grant writer, proposal developer, funding strategist, and writing expert for researchers. As a funding strategist, I build organizational capacity for research by articulating a strategic vision, aligning policies and resources, and building training pipelines. As an editor and proposal developer, I excel at crafting proposals that serve readers and reviewers.
