Claim your profileHi there! My name is Mia Brabham, and I am a spunky, self-driven storyteller who aspires to inspire and entertain others. I wear and have worn many hats over the course of my creative career, including author, writer, on-air host, producer, and content creator. I harbor a love for all things creative, an interest in everything culture and entertainment, and a real passion for telling stories through words, film, and design. A dedicated leader and team player with infectious enthusiasm, I am a vivacious individual who loves working with people. I specialize in interaction and engagement and have a background in and knowledge of creative marketing and strategy. I enjoy conceptualizing ideas, putting them into action, and seeing them out through each stage of production. I'm a graduate of James Madison University, where I studied Media Arts and Design (with a concentration in Digital Video and Cinema) and minored in Creative Writing. I got my start as an assistant video editor with Monumental Sports and Entertainment and returned two years later to become the in-arena host for the NBA G-league team. I've held production and marketing positions with E! News and Entertainment, Smithsonian Institution, 60 Second Docs, and was selected to be a part of the prestigious NBCUniversal Page Program before becoming a freelance writer and host for two and a half years.I am currently a lifestyle and entertainment Staff Writer at Shondaland.com who assists our director with digital content strategy across platforms, and previously wrote food blogs for Bigger Bolder Baking (in addition to hosting their hit podcast, Knead to Know), profiles on Black professionals for Gainesville Black Professionals' Synergy Magazine, community guides for Luxury Presence, social copy for Renovative Thinking, and lifestyle features for Prince William Living Magazine and the digital publication, Grace & Grind. My nonfiction and fiction writing has appeared in Cosmopolitan, Huffington Post, The Financial Diet, Popcorn Talk, AfterbuzzTV, Gardy Loo Magazine, Harness Magazine, California’s Emerging Writers: An Anthology of Fiction, and more. My first book, Note to Self, is in the hands of readers worldwide. My ultimate goal is to be a part of something meaningful that strives to leave a positive and influential impact on society, and aims to change the landscape of media and entertainment.
