I am a young professional located in the Charleston, SC region with a BA degree in Media & Journalism from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. I am currently searching for a position in the fields of communications, marketing, public relations, or any other sort of media-based professional opportunities where my writing, editing and project management expertise would be of added value.While I am in now living in South Carolina my first professional experience took place in Estes Park, Colorado where I worked as a lead reporter and managing editor at the Estes Park Trail-Gazette, a MediaNews Group publication. Throughout the year and a half that I spent in this position, I balanced news reporting and article writing with page design, budget planning, project management and public relations on a daily basis.As a leading member of our small news team at the Trail-Gazette, I was tasked with developing weekly news budgets, collaborating with page designers, tracking down local sources in order to keep up with my news coverage and managing the growth of our publication's social media channels. Throughout this work I not only enhanced my skillset in writing and editing but developed an ability to cross-coordinate communications with in-house staff and members of the public in order to deliver finished products under strict daily deadlines. Although a priority was placed on our print-editions and e-newsletters I also learned the value of using alternative methods of news media such as video and photo-based social media content in order to extend upon a brand's audience reach. When I made the decision to leave the Trail-Gazette I did so with over 300 articles published under my name, 72 print editions designed, 12 monthly marketing magazines curated in collaboration with local businesses and a wealth of knowledge in media and interpersonal relations.
