Claim your profileNational sports editor at News Corp Australia and mountain climber.Started working life at the Evening Post newspaper in Wellington, New Zealand, before heading to the Southland Times in Invercargill and the short-lived Auckland Sun tabloid. Leaving New Zealand at 20, the next stop was Melbourne's iconic Sun News-Pictorial as a sub-editor in sport.Joined Business Review Weekly magazine in 1990 and the brassy Truth newspaper, until the lure of mainstream daily news drew me back to the now Herald Sun sports desk after three years.Editor of Herald Sun features and then the fledgling Herald Sun website from 2008.Launched News Corp's AFL site SuperFooty, which has become the No.1 news breaking website for AFL in Australia.In 2009, became Herald Sun sports editor and built a new seven-day newsroom, combining print and digital.In 2022, as National Sports Editor restructured the News Corp sports newsrooms into a centralised National Sports Newsroom with an emphasis on audience and data-led premium sports journalism.Now closely collaborating with News Corp's standalone Code Sports website and the national regional and local sports teams, as well as the sport live streaming arm KTV.Climbing is my passion out of hours, including an Everest summit from China in 2018, Cholatse and Ama Dablam in Nepal, New Zealand alps, ice climbing in Iran. Rock climbing at Arapiles. A 2022 attempt on K2 ended when my climbing partner succumbed to altitude sickness.
