My work life can be separated into two careers: bouncing around every year or so to work at a different radio station, and the Grand Haven Tribune. From the beginning as city reporter, I added Business page editor and voiced the TribTalk audiotext news system. I later led the charge into video and became multimedia editor. Since March 2012, I have been charged with ensuring the quality of pages 1-4 Tuesday through Saturday. This includes the Opinion page, in which I recruit and coordinate more than a dozen freelance community columnists and write editorials. I took third place in the 2015 Michigan Press Association's Better Newspaper Contest for Best Editorial/Daily Class C for "City backed into corner on cross issue" and another third place in 2016 for “Lottery’s not fun when you lose."
