She recently rejoined CNET.com, where she leads the video team in daily tech news and reviews coverage and the development of original content, special projects and series for CNET, YouTube, social and emerging platforms.Highlights:-Recognized with 5 Emmys awards , 2 Associated Press Mark Twain awards, 8 Telly awards and a Webby nomination-Executive produced first special from the ABC Owned Television (OTV) group released on Hulu, FX, Freeform, NatGeo, ABC News Live, and NY, LA, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Houston stations-Executive produced the first three documentaries and 5-part limited series released on Hulu from the ABC Owned Television (OTV) stations. -Produced premium content that helped secure the first Hulu deal for ABC Owned TV group. -Executive produced race and culture content that won ABC7/KGO-TV a 2021 Murrow award for Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion-Produced 11 of CNET’s top 100 YouTube videos, including seven with over 1M views each.Mariel was previously Executive Producer of the Race and Culture team for the ABC Owned Television Stations, guiding race and culture coverage and producing specials and documentaries for the stations and Hulu. She was Executive Producer of Premium Content and Development at ABC7, where she led a team creating award-winning original, high impact, multi-platform videos and innovated within a legacy media company. She was previously Senior Video Producer at CBS Interactive, field producing tech news for CNET and CBS. She was Homepage Manager for the live-streaming site Ustream. She also served as Senior Producer at ABC7, where she launched 7Live--a live show with social media interactivity. As Managing Editor of Yahoo’s Digital Media Bureau, she produced content for social media and consumer broadcast. For 10 years, she produced newscasts at CBS5/KPIX.Mariel co-founded a production company, whose clients included Stanford Medical Center and Gap. She was a finalist in the 2011 We Media PitchIt Challenge and the 2010 Ford Foundation-Unity New U entrepreneur competition for FastCast, a mobile news start-up. Mariel graduated from the Asian American Journalist Association's Executive Leadership Program. She has been a speaker at national journalism conventions and several universities, including Syracuse and UC Berkeley.
