I love delivering the news to people and giving them the important information they need to make decisions about their their careers and families. I have won numerous regional and local awards for my anchoring, reporting and writing, but derive my greatest satisfaction from helping people make small changes that can make a big difference in their lives. I am the host of two podcasts, Let's Get Moving With Maria and Healthy Mind Matters, that are intended to inspire that change. Broadcast Journalism is my passion and I hope that by teaching radio journalism I can also instill the importance and love of strong, ethical journalism in my students.
