"Be the boss you never had" is the mantra I live by each day. In my last few years as an assistant news director, I've built a newsroom culture lead by empathy and transparency. Those are my core personal and professional values, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to lead by example and pass those same values onto my team. I've wanted to be a journalist since I was seven years old, and I feel like I'm living my dream each day. I worked my way up in this industry over the last 15 years; from an associate producer, to weekend producer, to producing newscasts and special projects on all shifts, before moving into management as a supervising producer and finally assistant news director. I also briefly dabbled with reporting on TV and reporting and producing newscasts and documentaries on radio.Je suis bilingue aussi, so I can read, write and speak English and French. I hold dual citizenship with Canada and the United States, so I can legally work in both countries.
