She has worked in journalism and media for more than 20 years — helping media companies, startups, global brands, governments, and NGOs to re-imagine and re-create their storytelling for modern audiences. By helping these institutions to imagine a better future that they want to be a part of, help create, or lead — she has shaped the voice and vision for their groundbreaking cultural work in sectors such as: journalism, television and film, music, virtual reality, technology, startups, sustainability and climate change. In 2017, she founded More Light Media, a new media company producing original works, working with startups, brands, and NGOs on various forms of storytelling, and within their literary division -- helping authors to shape new manuscripts and books. She has previously held leadership roles at Forbes, the Los Angeles Times, Atom Factory (music industry), the City of Los Angeles, the International Fund for Animal Welfare, Google (Project Empathy), and Shondaland. In 2019, she served as global director of content for the International Fund for Animal Welfare — helping the 50 year-old NGO gain new audiences and tell new stories that reshape the way we view animals, land, people, and their connection to global climate change. She served as head of content for Project Empathy, a virtual reality series which tackled human rights issues through the use of VR storytelling. The project was funded by Google and debuted VR content at the Democratic National Convention and with The Atlantic. She co-founded Smashd at Atom Factory, a music and entertainment management company. Smashd was created as a publication and platform, examining music, technology, culture, and entrepreneurs. She has served as an editor and columnist at Forbes, where she covered tech, startups, and entrepreneurs.
