Strategic thinker, journalist, TV presenter, interviewer, narrator, team leader, moderator and mentor.With more than 25 years of experience in journalism and media production, I am currently a Media Advisor at the Australian Conservation Foundation. This work includes delivering media strategies that amplify the organisation's environmental and sustainability initiatives, leveraging my expertise in broadcast journalism, strategic communications, and storytelling.As the Agriculture Correspondent for ​A​ustralian Associated Press, I generated a rich and diverse channel of content from breaking news to in-depth feature pieces. This highly autonomous ​role allowed me to set the tone of AAP's coverage, with a strong focus on sustainable agriculture and the industry's transition to a lower emissions future.For 17 years I worked as a senior journalist and presenter in the ABC Sydney newsroom, where I was considered a trusted editorial leader, mentor and story teller. As well as overseas reporting assignments I also covered stories on the environment, courts, rural and regional affairs and politics. My roles included anchoring and reporting on breaking news events. In these high pressure live situations I often delivered news and analysis across multiple media platforms. As one of the lead TV journalists in the Sydney newsroom covering Australia’s “ Black Summer” bushfires, I was a key member of the ABC team that won the 2020 News Report award in the Major News Event category, “ABC Bushfire Coverage.” For 6 months I reported on the fires throughout NSW, including the largest peacetime evacuation in Australian history.My personal and professional experiences reporting on the bushfire crisis has driven me to do further work in the climate change space.For several years I reported in the UK including for the BBC. Additionally I have worked in political bureaus across Canberra, NSW, the NT and Scotland. My experience includes high level coaching, speech writing and presentation.
