Claim your profileI am a storyteller.Words - both written and spoken - have been my passion, and my living, for 25 years. I am proud to be the obituaries writer, and part of the features team, for Scotland’s best daily newspaper, The Press and Journal. I also write for The Courier - best news website in the country too. Over the last three years I’ve had the privilege of telling some of the most remarkable, poignant and often heartbreaking stories of people from our communities. If I’ve learned anything it’s that my job has very little to do with death and so much to do with celebrating amazing people and the lives they’ve lived. I left my role as media relations and campaigns lead for the North East Autism Society’s award-winning marketing team in May 2021 to move back to Scotland. Perhaps going through cancer in the pandemic has given me an insight into life's ups and downs - or it could be, like I always have believed, the pen is mightier than the sword and stories matter.I’m also a published author (Just Such a Time), a ghost and memoir writer, an ambassador for child development charity Compassion UK and public speaker (both in a faith context and for work).
