I'm a senior editorial director with more than 20 years of experience building, transforming and leading newsrooms across the Middle East. I've built multi-media teams, developed content strategies for nascent digital newsrooms, devised and implemented workflows across print and video, set editorial standards and trained employees. I transitioned into the world of digital media startups after a career at Bloomberg and Reuters, where I reported from more than a dozen countries, writing on everything from war to financial crisis to climate change and shaping coverage of major global events. I'm co-author of The Battle for the Arab Spring, published in 2012 by Yale Books. Based in Dubai, via Beirut, Cairo, Tunis and London, my focus is on geoplitical risk with a special interest in crypto, markets and AI.
