I make videos, host podcasts, and write stories about what shapes our lives as San Franciscans, Californians, and Americans. Thinking constantly about how news media can engage with audiences and stay relevant. In my most recent roles I've hosted public affairs podcasts, and I love facilitating discussions to zero in on the issues that hit closest to home for listeners. I'm more convinced than ever that people crave solutions-focused, nuanced journalism. I also have experience helping other journalists produce compelling stories as an editor. I've managed several small teams that punched above their weight, delivering smart coverage in fast-paced news environments. But I haven't lost touch with my field reporter roots. My instinct is to go out to where the story is unfolding. That helps get the best sound bites and shots, sure, but I think it's critical to have face-to-face conversations with community members and stay connected.
