Claim your profileI'm an investigative reporter at The New York Times, formerly The Wall Street Journal, currently out of our San Francisco bureau. I've written two books, The Lost Bank, about the collapse of Washington Mutual during the financial crisis, the biggest bank failure in U.S. history, and most recently, Happy At Any Cost about the life and death of the famous entrepreneur Tony Hsieh, with a fellow reporter, Katherine Sayre. I've won more than a dozen awards for my work, including a Pulitzer finalist citation and a Loeb award. Most importantly, I'm the mother of two wonderful boys (and a chocolate lab) along with my husband, an engineer.
