Her personable nature and passion for storytelling allows her to easily connect with the community in times of sorrow and triumph. Kayland embodies a multiskilled journalist, capable of turning multiple enterprise stories daily while assisting the team on special projects and cultivating sources. She is a Weekend Evening Anchor and weekly co-host of the news show Friends at Five on Fridays. In her free time, Kayland volunteers with local nonprofits and speaks to aspiring journalists about the importance of the field. Before joining the WLTX-TV team, Kayland worked for three years as a freelance writer for The Lancaster News, earning a S.C. Press Association Award. She later assisted the WLTX-TV team in earning a STAR Award for coverage of the nationally-publicized Nathaniel Rowland Trial, after reporting live daily from the courthouse.
