Claim your profileI joined KGO-TV/ABC7 News as a production assistant in 2011 three months after graduating from San Francisco State University. Required duties included printing and sorting scripts for anchors & reporters, help reporters with video requests, running teleprompter and logging interviews. During my time as a P.A., I had the opportunity to perform somewhat non-traditional PA tasks at the station. Some included writing and producing stories (”Mural & Music Arts Project,” “How the Super Bowl changed in 50 years,” and “Field Trips for Underserved Students”), field produce for AIDS Walk 2015 where I had the chance to help interview participants for ABC7 News’ live stream, represent KGO-TV as “Mr. Emmy ” at the regional Northern California Emmy awards in 2015, and assist with the Super Bowl edition of ABC Daytime talk show “The View” in 2016. In June 2016, I became one of three producers for longtime “7 On Your Side”/KGO-TV reporter, Michael Finney. I wrote, produced and edited the morning consumer segment “Ask Finney.” It increased engagement on social and the community. I wrote & produced long-form consumer stories such as a “look at digital assistants privacy” & “restaurant surcharges.” I am also in charge of “Consumer Reports” content for the department. In the summer 2018, I began producing “Resolve Roundup,” showcasing consumer issues that have been resolved by our consumer counselors. l also became the segment’s interview booker where I would secure in-studio interviews on consumer-related topics with Michael Finney. I also had the chance to be at the helm of some of KGO-TV’s special events: In 2017, I was the field & digital producer at the “American Idol” auditions in Oakland. In 2018, I was the field producer for one of the “Dubs on 7” promos, and station organizer for “Disney Pride in San Francisco.” I also co-organized the station’s inaugural “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” event in 2018 and again in 2019. I also helped with “Aloha Fest” in 2016 and 2017, and was a participant with the “Building a Better Bay Area Commute Challenge” in 2018. I have also had stints at news writing and working at the assignment desk. In March 2019, in addition to my “7 On Your Side” role, I became a digital producer. I have assisted with coverage on some major events including the novel coronavirus pandemic, 2019 and 2020 Bay Area wildfires and George Floyd protests. I recently co-produced one episode of ABC7’s limited digital series, “The COVID-19 Diaries.”
