Claim your profileMy colleagues and I won the 2023 Pulitzer Prize in breaking news for reporting on a leaked audio recording that upended Los Angeles politics. I've covered elections, wildfires, shootings, awards shows, vaccine scams, drought restrictions and nearly everything in between. Prior to joining The Times' City Hall bureau, I spent two years helming The Times' daily Essential California newsletter, delivering colorful dispatches from around the state (many of which also ran as print columns in the Sunday paper). I was also part of the team that was a 2022 Pulitzer Prize finalist for work covering a fatal shooting on the set of the film “Rust.” Before joining The Times, I was the editor in chief of LAist. I'm good in a crisis and can get you anywhere in Los Angeles on side streets without opening a map.
