Claim your profileI'm a journalist and writer, and the founder and executive editor of Patagon Journal, a bilingual print and digital magazine about Patagonia and the world's last wild places. As a journalist, I have written for several newspapers and diverse other media in the U.S., Canada, and U.K. and was a regular correspondent for Newsweek magazine for 10+ years. I have also held leadership roles at environmental non-profits in the U.S. and Chile. My first job was director of the Brower Fund and special assistant to David Brower, a pioneering leader in the modern environmental movement as the founder of Friends of the Earth and the first executive director of the Sierra Club. Later, I was international projects coordinator at Defensores del Bosque Chileno, a forest protection group in Chile. In college, I was chairman and lead organizer of Threshold, the first-ever national student environmental conference, which led to the founding of the national Student Environmental Action Coalition in the U.S.
