As managing editor, I built up and led the Breaking News team at Seeking Alpha (the leader in crowdsourced investing information) -- a team that covers breaking information on more than 8,000 public companies, exchange-traded funds and mutual funds with speed and clarity.I'm currently senior news editor on the Media/Telecom beat, writing daily about goings-on with stocks in the sector: these days, more often than not, about yet another merger, and content/pipes convergence between telecom companies and media firms.While I have hundreds of bylines in news and feature writing, I've always enjoyed the role of managing editor -- where I can keep one foot on the creative side, close to the audience, while also working to shape a publication's voice and workflow overall.I have previous experience as an intranet editor at IBM, as well as serving in roles at the Austin-American-Statesman, the Idaho Statesman and the Houston Post.I'm proud to have earned national honors at The Daily Texan, as a student journalist at The University of Texas, where I finished with a Bachelor's degree in Finance.I enjoy reconnecting with former colleagues, managers or interesting contacts, so feel free to reach out to me.
