Claim your profileI am a markets reporter, passionate about understanding the global financial market and explaining the movements of financial assets. One of the thrills of my job is identifying investment opportunities through research and interviews and explaining the investment thesis and its risks to readers. At Barron's, my first order of business is to identify recent trends within the stock market, sometimes in bonds or currencies, and explain why they’re happening and what to look for next. That usually presents opportunities for me to recommend individual stocks. I am constantly reading through macro and company research reports. I am often on the phone with wealth managers, fund managers, investment strategists, economists, analysts and corporate executives. My twin passions are economics and corporate finance on the one hand, and writing on the other. Marrying these two interests every day in order to help casual observers and sophisticated readers is what makes me happy. Starting in college, I’ve been building my knowledge base and skill set through a combination of formal education and self-teaching. I am a dedicated learner and perfectionist. I learned how to write through my major, Political Science, and the practice of journalism. My knowledge of economics, business and corporate valuation has come mostly through my own education initiatives. I assiduously study such sources as Barron's,The Wall Street Journal and textbooks on finance and economics. My knowledge base continues through my coverage of markets. That process is -- and will always be -- ongoing.
