I am an award-winning journalist and senior supply chain analyst within the Global Intelligence and Analytics team of S&P Global Market Intelligence, working on researching and covering trade logistics. Prior roles within the company included work within the IMO ships and company team, focussing on sanctioned vessels and beneficial ownership as well as editing Ports & Harbors, the membership publication of the International Association of Ports & Harbors, and Dredging and Ports Construction.Making use of my experience in multi-media and data-driven storytelling, my focus for the company’s maritime portfolio has been to establish the utilisation of our rich dredging, maritime and trade data and to translate those datasets into interactive visualisations to give an insight into fleet data, port infrastructure developments and shipbuilding trends as well as casualty incidents. I also regularly moderate internal and external webinars and conference panels, such as for the IAPH World Ports Conference, UNCTAD's Supply Chain Forum, TPM, as well as for CEDA, or the annual WISTA conference.Prior to joining S&P Global, I was the editor of the specialist materials science titles Materials World and Clay Technology, the membership publications of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining in the UK. I started my maritime journalism career in 2015 at The Marine Professional, the membership publication of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science, and Technology. I also worked as a freelance journalist for English and German media after having graduated from the MA Science Journalism at City University London in 2015 and I started my career as a journalist traditionally while still in school — as a freelance reporter on the local paper back home in Germany.
