Claim your profileI have worked in the Scottish newspaper industry for more than 25 years. Employed directly by both The Courier and Evening Telegraph, I have contributed to a number of other DC Thomson & Co publications including The Sunday Post and The Stooshie. I have reported on all manner of stories - from personal tragedies and triumphs to high-profile court cases, council proceedings to front-line politics - both online and in print. I set up The Courier's business desk in 2011 and found my niche in business reporting. In 2019, I was named business / financial journalist of the year at the Scottish Press Awards, an accolade I was delighted to receive but which I took as being a signal to move on to the next chapter of my career. I was privileged to be appointed Deputy Editor of The Courier - working alongside the paper's first female Editor - and in 2021 moved to my current role of Managing Editor for the Dundee titles. That change came as part of a full newsroom transformation project designed to grasp the opportunities of subscription-based digital journalism. I am also heavily involved in The Courier Business Awards, the not-to-be-missed event in the local business calendar, and in 2022 helped establish Business Beats Cancer Dundee, a fundraising platform to help raise cash for vital cancer research being progressed in the city.
