Claim your profileI have worked as a journalist for the past 22 years and have been NCE qualified since 2003. During this time I have enjoyed constant career progression, which has given me valuable skills in every aspect of being a journalist. I have worked as a trainee reporter, senior reporter, chief reporter, news editor, and sub-editor and have covered, sub-edited and designed pages for every kind of story, from local flower shows to national tragedies. I have also been responsible for features, business stories and sports reports. A brief summary of my main qualities as a journalist are listed below. In addition, I possess the ability to work equally well as part of a team or on my own initiative. Working all my professional life thus far as a journalist has also given me the ability to thrive under the pressure of meeting tight deadlines. I currently work as a Content Editor at the Stoke Sentinel where I have responsibility for designing all pages on the daily Sentinel and a number of additional supplements, along with writing headlines, checking and re-writing copy where necessary, sourcing photographs and, again where necessary, manipulating them in Photoshop. Before working at the Sentinel, I was with the MEN media group, where I was part of a team sub-editing a total of 20 different titles, including the Manchester Evening News.
