Gaggan is a highly motivated, focused, successful executive producer & an award-winning multi-platform investigative journalist, reporter, digital media producer, current affairs, and documentary film maker with over 10 years of experience working for the BBC. Gaggan currently works as an executive producer at BBC Radio York where she is responsible for all aspects of the station’s day to activities and output. This includes deputising in the Executive Editor's absence. Gaggan also directly line manages more than a dozen presenters, producers, journalism coordinators and social media journalists.Prior to this, Gaggan worked as a Senior Reporter and Journalist for the BBC World Service, reporting on the South Asian diaspora, and before that she has worked as an Investigative Journalist for BBC Inside Out and as a Communities Reporter for BBC Look North. Gaggan has substantial experience of reporting, presenting and making digital video, TV and radio packages and can turn complex stories into creative and engaging content whether it be for video, audio, graphics and text. Gaggan is an excellent communicator and speaks 6 languages (Hindi, English, Tamil, Punjabi, Urdu and basic Arabic) which has helped her to gain the trust of sources and contacts and in return has resulted in her obtaining exclusive and original story ideas.Gaggan has great access to UK’s underserved and BAME communities across the country and meets challenging deadlines and delivers results whilst working alone and under pressure as well she is a good team player.
