Throughout her college career, she interned in four newsrooms, rose through multiple positions to serve as a managing editor of The Butler Collegian and was part of two separate honors programs. Her work was recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists, the Indiana Collegiate Press Association and Butler's College of Communication where she was named the Outstanding Journalism Student in 2022 and 2024.After graduating, Gabriella spent her summer at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication for the Carnegie-Knight News21 program. She was one of 29 students who traveled across the country reporting on the state of American democracy ahead of the presidential election. Her reporting examined the increase in violence and intimidation against election officials, along with the legislature and safety measures working to keep them safe ahead of November 2024.Ballet gave Gabriella undying determination and a keen eye for detail, while the opportunities she has sought out have taught her how to find and convey a compelling story.
