Claim your profileWhen I was a kid, I took part in a creative writing camp in Orange County, CA. On the last day, all the campers wrote messages on postcards, tied the cards to helium balloons, and released them into the wild blue yonder to find their fate. I waited, giddy with anticipation, hoping that someone in a faraway land would discover my balloon and contact me. Would it be New York? Zimbabwe? Singapore?Nope. My balloon landed in a neighbor's yard just a few blocks away. But you know what? The person who found it wrote me back, excited that it was her beloved orange tree that had caught my balloon. And while I was disappointed that she wasn't a Texas cowboy or a Trans-Siberian train conductor, I had what we writers call an epiphany. I realized what my camp counselors were hoping to get across: that all writing, whether it be a novel or a tweet or a postcard attached to a balloon, creates an opportunity for connection.Today I am an accomplished writer, content curator/editor, programming manager, social media manager, and award-winning storyteller with a passion for making impactful connections. I create compelling narratives and take on an organization's unique persona to appeal to loyal followers and to create new ones.I've written everything from jokes for The WB Network to PSA's for non-profit organizations. I even ran the UCLA Professional Program in Screenwriting, significantly increasing enrollment and accelerating hundreds of writers on their own path to success. As I learned all those years ago at camp, connection with an audience, a new market, and fellow human beings is paramount. So let's connect!
