Claim your profileEmily Conklin (she/her) is a writer, design, and publisher based in Manhattan. She is the founder and creative director of the publishing studio Tiny Cutlery, which publishes bespoke books that challenge the genres and accepted aesthetics of the design canon.Conklin is also a researcher whose work currently focuses on labor and the commons in architecture. She has published the book Partitions, Please, with Columbia GSAPP that imagines a more just future for empty office towers in lower Manhattan activated by community cooperation and grassroots design. These practices are rooted in and informed by Conklin's 10+ years of marketing and media experience in New York City. Working as a writer and editor for myriad publications in the design sphere, from Artforum to Log to NYRA, Emily's deep knowledge of the art and design scene makes her a leader in marketing for firms and studios looking to bolster their storytelling or reach new audiences. She most recently was the Managing Editor of The Architect's Newspaper, and continues to write on a freelance basis for her favorite editors and publications around the world.
