Elise founded Marfa Public Radio Studios, an incubator for creative podcast and broadcast content. She created Marfa Public Radio School, a free podcast training program for emerging voices. Marfa Public Radio is recognized both for its journalism and its approach to community engagement. Elise serves as a member of the NPR board. She is the host and creator of Marfa for Beginners.Previous to her work with Marfa Public Radio, Elise was an independent producer and educator. She hosted live events and created public collaborations centered on telling true stories. Elise got her start interviewing people with StoryCorps. She believes media can shape our sense of truth and imagination.
