I worked closely with the host and producers, writing parody sketches based on the day’s news—my first taste of live, collaborative radio. In 1989, I moved to New York City to join the Peabody Award-winning public radio show Heat with John Hockenberry as a producer and director. Not long after, I found my professional home at New York Public Radio, where I’ve spent over 30 years producing and directing a wide range of music and cultural programming. My work has included nationally syndicated broadcasts like Carnegie Hall Live, as well as live productions from venues across the city, including Lincoln Center, Trinity Church, Bargemusic, The United Nations, and NJPAC. I’ve also curated and produced performances in NYPR’s Jerome L. Greene Performance Space, featuring world-renowned artists such as Lang Lang, Beatrice Rana, and Joshua Bell.In addition to classical and contemporary music events, I’ve developed themed variety shows celebrating Pride, Women’s History Month, and AAPI Heritage Month, bringing together musicians, dancers, comedians, and other performers for dynamic, genre-blending programs.I’ve also worked with public radio stations across the country—including in New Orleans, Portland, and Louisville—to mentor producers and share best practices for live broadcast production and direction. Most recently, I’ve taken on the role of Interim Manager of WQXR, New York’s classical music station, overseeing its programming and strategic direction.
