I am a features editor at Insider. I work with Insider staff, as well as a global network of freelance writers and photojournalists (the Global News Correspondents team), to produce deeply-reported, engaging, and impactful journalism. From Ukraine, my team profiled volunteer soldiers, we got inside the wartime operations of the Ukrainian railway, and we accompanied postal workers on their routes. We've published in-depth and hard-hitting profiles of Tucker Carlson, Greg Kelly, and Naomi Wolf. Our work has also included widely-read features about Afghanistan's social media influencers, Mexico's "Lord of the Skies," and the COVID-era experiment in home confinement for federal prisoners. My work with Insider staff has included "Disaster at 18,200 feet: The story of what really happened when a mountaineer fell 1,000 feet while summiting North America's tallest peak, Denali." Prior to joining Insider in 2020, I worked for Reuters in New York and Nairobi. I left Reuters to launch a magazine about Nairobi and to pursue longer-form projects.
