Claim your profileThe American Meteorological Society recently awarded me CBM #613. From tornadoes and blizzards to wildfires and extreme drought, I have covered it all. Living in multiple and vastly different geographical regions in the United States and Canada, I have learned what it takes to forecast any type of weather with accuracy and confidence. I know what it takes to be a great meteorologist. In my last role, I was the Chief Meteorologist for NTV, located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. My goal at NTV, when I started with the company in 2013 was to create a market leading weather brand. During my 12 years with NTV, ratings have improved year over year and we are strong number one in the Newfoundland and Labrador TV Market. On top of that, I was able to build strong brand for NTV on various social media platforms. I also helped steer NTV's presence in digital, mainly on NTV.ca, toward massive improvements due to strong understanding of peoples' behavior in digital and social media environments. I started my career with an internship at WCAU-TV in Philadelphia, PA during the summer of 2006. During my time as an intern, I worked with some of the best broadcast meteorologists in the business; Glenn "Hurricane" Schwartz and Doug Kammerer. The foundation of my career was built while working closely with Glenn and Doug. I graduated from Plymouth State University in May of 2007, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology. Shortly thereafter I was I was hired by WGXA-TV (Macon, GA) as the Chief Meteorologist. While in Macon I became extremely proficient with Weather Central's Genesis broadcast graphics. I also covered multiple severe weather events with live cut-ins. I was employed with WGXA from August of 2007 thru August of 2009. From October of 2009 to July of 2013 I was the Chief Meteorologist at KJCT News 8 in beautiful Grand Junction, Colorado. I anchored the 5, 6 and 10pm newscasts Monday through Friday. Engaging weather graphics were produced with WXC 3D:Live and ESP:Live. Other duties also included a weather section on KJCT's website, along with helping to generate a social media presence in the community.
