In July 2024, I returned to my news roots as Senior Director of News (News Director) of WTKR - TV, the Scripps station in my hometown of Norfolk, Virginia. Prior to coming back home, I was the VP / General Manager of WREX - TV, The NBC affiliate in Rockford, Illinois from May 2021 to July 2024. . During my time at WREX, I participated in and acted as a moderator for the Chamber's "Leadership Rockford" program. I served as a board member for the Rockford River District, which advocates for downtown development and success. I also served as a mentor for "Rockford Promise" which provides full college scholarships for students from the Rockford Public Schools. Before coming to WREX, I spent nearly 7 years as the News Director at WKOW - TV 27, the ABC Affiliate in Madison, Wisconsin. The station was awarded "Station of the Year" in 2016, 2019, 2020 and 2021. I joined WKOW in 2014. During my time at WKOW, I was also part of the Quincy Media Recruiting team and worked to onboard and train new News Directors at sister stations in the company. Prior to WKOW, I was the Assistant News Director at WISN - TV 12, the Hearst station in Milwaukee, WI. I was also Acting News Director at WISN from July to November 2012. Before WISN, I was the News Director for WHSV - TV, the ABC affiliate in Harrisonburg, VA. My prior experience includes roles as an anchor, reporter, producer and photojournalist. During my tenure at WDSU - TV in New Orleans, I covered and was affected by Hurricane Katrina. I did numerous reports for CNN and MSNBC for over a year on the storm and the area's recovery. I was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia and attended Radford University. I proudly serve on the board for the College of Humanities & Behavioral Sciences for my alma mater.
