I'm a senior editor at The New Yorker. Previously I was an editor at Slate and the managing editor of PEN America, the literary magazine published by PEN American Center. Prior to becoming an editor I taught literature and writing at Harvard, Oxford, and Hunter College. I've written about books, movies, and other subjects for the New York Times, Bookforum, The London Review of Books, New York Magazine, and other publications, and served on the board of the National Book Critics Circle.
